It's Not Halloween....
This morning at a local coffee shop a little kid may be three greeted me with a big "Hello!" He said, "It isn't Halloween because it's too cold." I mentioned this to his pop, he smiled and said" He wants candy." Sweet family. Thank you for the experience.

Thomas and a Butter Moment
My roommate's cat Thomas was rumored to be skittish of strangers before I moved in. Within a couple of days of me sleeping here, he was sniffing me and jumping on my bed. When I come home I have come to enjoy him greeting me at the door. Cats can to that to. Right now he is curled up at the foot of my bed sleeping. I'm glad he feels at ease with me. I love you Thomas the Cat.

A Butter Moment at a Coffee shop in Old Town
My.. I feel blessed to be a fly on the wall today. A small group of women have gotten together to support each other. They are dealing with serious health concerns for themselves or a loved one. They are listening to each other and saying what works and what doesn't work. They are telling each other that they are proud of each other for doing this or that. How often does this happen. What friends!!
There is alot of love at the table a couple tables away from me. These women aren't feeling sorry for themselves. They are taking care of themselves and each other. Amen.

Carry the Fire
We can never go home
We no longer have one
I'll help you carry the load
I'll carry you in my arms
The kiss of the snow
The cresent moon above us
Our blood is cold and we're alone
But I'm alone with you
Help me to carry the fire
We will keep it alight together
Help me to carry the fire
It will light our way forever
If I say shut your eyes
If I say look away
Bury your face in my shoulder
Think of a birthday
The things you put in your heads
They will stay here forever
Our blood is cold and we're alone
But I'm alone with you
Help me to carry the fire
We will keep it alight together
Help me to carry the fire
It will light our way forever
Help me to carry the fire
We will keep it alight together
Help me to carry the fire
It will light up our way forever
If I say shut your eyes
If I say shut your eyes
Bury me in surprise
Where I say shut your eyes
Help me to carry the fire
We will keep it light together
Help me to carry the fire
It will light our way forever

A Butter Moment in 2010
I know it has been awhile. I guess I've had a hard time seeing butter moments lately. But isn't that the point, that even in the toughest storm we can still see the light. I can think of a couple:
A friend who went through a major health event a few weeks ago is up and walking miles. Yeah!
Another butter moment happened yesterday. I got to interview my folks. My mom and my stepdad. It was fun and moving for us at the same time. I was reminded why I interview folks. It comes from the heart.
